This is the second year I'm reusing the base structure for the Christmas tree decoration, which has been utilized for various occasions in the past. I want to thank CIC Zero Carbon Park for the opportunity to decorate it again, this time with recycled denim jeans and reused soda cans, creating a stunning and vibrant denim Christmas tree that presents a fresh look to the public. You may notice that the soda can ornaments are also reused from last year's decoration. While celebrating this meaningful festival, we can find better ways to balance environmental protection with commercial interests. With repurposed materials, we can still create something beautiful and powerful.
Earlier this year, in September, I collected around 50 pairs of jeans from my family, friends and neighbors. Some were worn out and no longer wearable, but I cleaned, dried, and cut them into strips to form this Christmas tree. The roses are crafted from the pockets of the jeans. It’s easy to make this decoration, but it requires time, effort and wisdom, especially with limited resources. Every pair of jeans tells a difference story. I hope you like it and appreciate it. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year ahead! |
