Butterflies in motion @ Zero Carbon Park
Oct 2024 -Jan 2025
CIC Zero Carbon Park, Kowloon Bay

Title: Butterflies in Motion

About the artwork:

Inspired by the concept of "sustainable cityscape," the artist meticulously crafted an art installation consisting of hundreds of butterflies and flowers made from abandoned electrical wires, iron wires, and vegetable nettings. This work showcases the metamorphosis of butterflies from caterpillars, invoking the value of repurposing in sustainability.

Using a rich palette of pink, green, yellow, and orange, the core of the art piece is composed of two rectangular blocks, signifying the urban cityscape. Pink embodies romance, green represents harmony, yellow symbolizes vibrancy, and orange conveys creativity. These seemingly unimposing skyscrapers conceal the vibrant colors of butterflies and flowers. With their dancing, fluttering wings, teeming with the energy of butterflies just broken out of their cocoons, the installation reflects the vitality of Mother Nature and the ever-constant cycle of life and death, accentuating the beauty of nature and the city coexisting.

This art piece was created with the assistance of our Green Heroes to promote sustainable development and acknowledge the importance of preserving our Mother Nature, joining hands to construct a greener future.
